Check SIM or Insert SIM error on Iridium Extreme

Follow the steps below on how to insert the SIM card into the Iridium Extreme.

Step 1: Remove SIM card.

  1. Remove the battery by twisting the d-ring set screw counter clockwise and pulling away from the phone
  2. Unlock the SIM card door by sliding it to upwards
  3. Note the position of the cut corner in the SIM card slot
  4. Lift up the SIM card door
  5. Remove the SIM card
  6. Obtain a soft cloth or contact cleaner
  7. Wipe gold contacts on SIM card

Step 2: Insert SIM card

  1. Insert SIM card into SIM card door
  2. Ensure the cut corner of the SIM card lines up with the cut corner on the phone
  3. Close SIM card door
  4. Slide the SIM card door downwards to lock it in to place
  5. Insert the battery and twist the d-ring set screw clockwise to lock it in to place
  6. Firmly press on the center of the battery to ensure it is well seated 
  7. Press and hold power button
  8. The handset will power on and begin to search for the Iridium network
