Enable Tracking without GeoPro LBS Service for Iridium Extreme

Follow the steps below on how to enable tracking without the GeoPro LBS Service for the Iridium Extreme.

You can configure your Iridium Extreme to send tracking reports via SMS on a regular interval. This will send a text only position report and will not display on a map. Each message is billed as a standard SMS message.

Step 1: Set report recipient

  1. Press the "Menu" key
  2. Select "Setup"
  3. Select "Location Options"
  4. Select "Message Options"
  5. Select "Regular Update"
  6. Select "Update Recipient" 
  7. Enter an SMS number or email address
  8. Save the entry

Step 2: Set the tracking interval

  1. Press the "Menu" key
  2. Select "Setup"
  3. Select "Location Options"
  4. Select "Message Options"
  5. Select "Regular Update"
  6. Select "Update Frequency"
  7. Select an interval, the device will now send an SMS or email with your Lat. and Long. on the selected interval
