Follow the instructions below if the LCD display is not working on the GeoPro Messenger GPM1000.
Note: The GPM1000 uses a monochrome liquid crystal display. Due to extreme environmental temperatures and rugged usage/conditions the LCD may become damaged over time.
Solution 1: Remove and reinsert the battery
- Turn the device to its back-side
- Remove the two D-Ring screws securing the battery cover
- Remove battery cover
- Remove and unplug the battery
- Plug in and reseat the battery
- Reseat the battery cover and secure the two D-Ring screws
- Turn the device to its front-side and it should have automatically powered on.
- Confirm the power LED flashes periodically (set to ON and flashes by default) and check if the display is functioning.
- If the power LED does not flash periodically and the display is not functioning, please proceed to the next solution.
- If the power LED is flashing and the display is not functioning, please contact GeoPro Technical Support to make arrangements for an RMA.
Solution 2: Replacing the battery
- Turn the device to its back-side
- Remove the two D-Ring screws securing the battery cover
- Remove battery cover
- Remove and unplug the battery
- Plug in and reseat the replacement battery
- Reseat the battery cover and secure the two D-Ring screws
- Turn the device to its front-side and it should have automatically powered on.
- Confirm the power LED flashes periodically (set to ON and flashes by default) and check if the display is functioning.
- If the power LED does not flash periodically and the display is not functioning, please contact GeoPro Technical Support to make arrangements for an RMA.
- If the power LED is flashing and the display is not functioning, please contact GeoPro Technical Support to make arrangements for an RMA.
