Feature Overview: Monitor Me
Monitor Me is a feature that is available exclusively on the GeoPro mobile app. Monitor Me is a monitoring feature that can be initiated by a user when facing a situation that is riskier than usual or for those that don't work set times of day and have more of a dynamic schedule. Monitor Me encompasses a number of powerful features which can be enabled with a simple press of a button. This includes the ability to set a a check-in interval which will remind the user to check-in periodically, set a tracking interval which will automatically send frequent position reports, and set non-movement/man down detection parameters (if enabled by Roadpost) which can automatically trigger an emergency should an accident occur and the user stops moving (See Fig. 1). By having your users enable monitoring to check-in periodically, get frequent position reports and detection lack of movement, GeoPro can ensure their safety.
Note: If you require man-down/non-movement detection enabled for your account, please contact us for assitance. This feature is not enabled by default.
When Monitor Me is initiated, a countdown timer will be started based on the selected interval (See Fig. 2). The escalation contacts on the account will be notified and provided with the interval details. The active monitoring session will also be displayed on the dashboard of the GeoPro Web App ensuring awareness for Administrators and Monitors logged in to the system. The user will be prompted to check-in each time the countdown timer has expired (See Fig. 3) and will continue to be reminded until the user has successfully checked in. If the user is unable to check-in once the timer and buffer have expired, an alert will be sent to the escalation contacts on the account. This alert will advise your escalation contacts that a check-in has been missed and the user is now overdue. The smartphone used with the mobile app will display reminders when in other apps and in the notification drop-down.
Setting the Monitor Me session to require an annotation when starting or stopping the Monitor Me function will present the Mobile App User with a free form text field where they can optionally record a note relevant to this activity (See Fig. 4). The annotation will be stored in the Inbox entry for the start or stop monitoring event and will appear in any related Event Notifications triggered by this action. Annotations can be used by used by Mobile App Users to record any related work information such as travel plans, work site location name, or their intended work task.
If you've selected to have your account monitored by GEOS and you've also selected the option to have GEOS monitor missed check-ins, GEOS’ International Emergency Response Call Centre will also receive the alert and contact the user to confirm their safety. If required, GEOS will work with first responders to dispatch and coordinate rescue. If assistance is not required, the user, Administrator or Monitor can simply check-in to clear the overdue state.
