Iridium GO!® App Android App v1.6.10 Update Available

An update is now available for the Iridium GO!® App for Android devices and can be accessed via the Google Playstore App version 1.6.10 , has the following updates:


  • Allows Texts to 2888
  • Fixes the issue where special characters in the synced contacts were replaced with a ‘dot’, it now removes all special  characters except ‘plus’ +
  • Minor User Interface Updates Through the App
  • Overall Performance Improvement

While this release is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended that the update be performed as soon as possible to enable the best service experience.

iOS App (v 3.0.3) Update Available


An update is now available for the Iridium GO!® Mail and Web App for iOS devices and can be accessed via the Apple App Store. App version 3.0.3 provides compatibility with the latest iOS 13 versions and resolves connectivity issues faced with sending/receiving mail.

Iridium GO! Mail & Web Twitter Update

Iridium Mail & Web

No Longer Supports Twitter


Twitter has deprecated support for TLS 1.0 (its transport layer security protocols) and updated its Application Program Interface (API) documentation to support only TLS 1.2 or higher. As a consequence of this change, Iridium Mail and Web no longer supports Twitter posting, as the IMW server does not support the newer TLS protocols and only supports 1.0. The Tweet option will be removed from the Iridium Mail and Web App in an upcoming app update release.

Twitter is still supported on the Iridium GO! App with our SMS interconnection via short code (40404) and should be used instead of the iridium Mail and Web app method, which no longer works

To utilize Twitter functionality on the Iridium GO! App the following is required:

  • Active Twitter Account
  • Active Iridium Number
  • Ensure Iridium GO! Subscriber Number Linked to Your Twitter Account


To link your Twitter account with your Iridium GO! device follow these steps:


1.  Login to Twitter.com

2. Update Your Account Settings with the Iridium Phone Number


Once the Iridium GO! has been linked to your Twitter account, posting text messages within the Iridium GO! Twitter feature will post directly to your Twitter profile. Further information on Tweeting via SMS can be found at support.twitter.com.

Iridium Extreme 9575 Antenna Repair Notice

This email is an update to the notification originally sent on December 13, 2019. Since the original notice, Iridium has added more model numbers to list of Iridium Extreme devices that are no longer eligible for antenna repairs.

Going forward, any Iridium Extreme with the model number listed below can only be replaced outright at the level 3 repair rate if the antenna is broken.

Inmarsat Voicemail Upgrade - December 10th

On December 10 at 9:00 AM EST (6:00 AM PST) Inmarsat will be upgrading the voicemail system to add more storage for messaging. 


Once the maintenance has been completed customers will be asked to set a new voicemail PIN and a new greeting.

Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro End of Support Notice

Inmarsat has informed Roadpost of the end of IsatPhone Pro support. The IsatPhone Pro was the original IsatPhone model released in 2010. In November 2014, Inmarsat had declared the IsatPhone Pro as "end of life" and discontinued manufacturing the IsatPhone Pro.


As of October 1, 2019, Inmarsat will no longer provide out of warranty repairs, troubleshooting, or firmware updates. Roadpost will continue to provide limited troubleshooting for the IsatPhone Pro. Repair services and replacement phones will no longer be provided. Defective handsets will need to be replaced with the IsatPhone 2 model.


Below is a reference picture of the IsatPhone Pro model to assist you with identifying your handset model.

Update to the Iridium Extreme & Iridium 9555 Complete Kit

Please be aware that starting soon, Iridium Extreme and Iridium 9555 handset kits shipped will include a new auto-charger with part number AUTE1801. The change in part number is for Iridium to account for a change in auto-charger supplier/manufacturer and there is no price change or change in functionality/operation of the auto charger in any way. Please click here for a picture of the new auto-charger. As well, the Iridium Extreme handset kits will no longer include the Manual, CD, or the PC international plug adapter, and are shipped this way from Iridium. There is no price change as a result of this change.

Iridium GO!® Mail & Web Android App Update Available

Iridium Mail & Web No Longer Supports Facebook

Effective August 1, Facebook no longer allows any third-party applications to publish on an End-User’s wall, due to changes made to its Application Program Interface (API) documentation. As a consequence of this change, Iridium Mail and Web no longer supports Facebook posting. The Facebook option will be removed from the Iridium Mail and Web App in an upcoming app update release.
 
Please note, users currently trying to post via the Iridium GO!® on Facebook will receive an error message back from the server about permissions. See below:

Requires either publish_to_groups permission and app being installed in the group, or manage_pages and publish_pages as an admin with sufficient administrative permission

Iridium 9555 Antenna Repair Notice - February 26, 2016

Iridium 9555 Antenna Repair Notice

Iridium has informed Roadpost that antenna repairs can no longer be performed on certain models of the 9555. Iridium 9555 phones with the model number IRID0015XX (XX is a place holder for the last two characters) can only be replaced outright at the $545 rate.

If you have an antenna repair request please email support@roadpost.com with the IMEI number and model number. The location of these numbers can be found in the example picture below.
